#Playstation2013 — Not Just a Cool Hashtag

#Playstation2013. What is it? What does it mean?

Sony unleashed this short video to the world today promoting some sort of announcement which will take place on February 20th, 2013. With rumors swirling around about the Playstation 4, I doubt Sony will use this platform to unveil a new console. I’d put my money on Sony talking about PS4 at E3 in June, but hey, I could be wrong. With that being said, Sony originally wanted to keep a 10 year lifespan for the PS3, so even an E3 unveiling would be stretching it.

Stay tuned to see what Sony does next month. You can monger and speculate as much as you want in the comment box below. Check out the #Playstation2013 website here!

A True Test of Patience — GTAV to be Delayed

Thursday comes with a little bit of bad news for all of the Grand Theft Auto fans out there: You can expect some delays.

Rockstar announced today that the next entry in their flagship “Grand Theft Auto” series will be pushed back from an original “spring” release window, to September 17th. The good news is that there is now an actual day to take off work to play, but it comes at the expense of testing your patience (something I don’t have a lot of).

The Rockstar development team had this to say:

We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.

To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.

The GTA Team

While waiting stinks, I’m sure there’s a reason for the delay so let’s give Rockstar all the time they need. Maybe with this delay we may see a Wii U version of the game? One can only hope.

Do you plan on picking up GTAV on September 17th? Sound off in the comments below!

THE Top Ten Games of ALL TIME — According to Myself #2

Final Fantasy IX (PSX)250px-Ffixbox

Final Fantasy IX ranks number two on my list for a myriad of reasons. First of all, it was my gateway Final Fantasy experience, along with being the first game I owned for a Playstation console. Second, it was the first game I put 60+ hours into without blinking an eye. These positives just scratch the surface of the numerous positives to an epic RPG experience. Continue reading

Digital Rights Management – EA’s Fight Against Piracy and Angry Gamers

The video game industry is one of the most profitable in the world, raking in billions of dollars each year. Some game publishers believe that this number may in fact actually be on the low side when pirating is put into the equation.

Pirating is a term used to describe the action of downloading a game or software through illegitimate means. This could be done through peer to peer services such as Limewire, or through torrent hosting applications such as The Pirate Bay. >

BCS Championship Reax

Well Alabama did what I thought they would do, and dominated the Irish en route to a 42-14 blowout. Not to take anything away from what the Irish did (they beat everyone on their schedule) but the Tide were too big, fast, and experienced for Notre Dame.

Originally, I predicted a 34-10 win for Alabama, which turned out to be pretty generous for Notre Dame. The Irish’s first scoring drive resulted from a blown call which converted a 3rd and 16, and a roughing the passer call to extend the drive.

The best entertainment of the night came in the form of Continue reading
